About Sense/Net
We record what it is like to be there.
Sense/Net is a Los Angeles media company that has been putting audiences where a performer stands for 38 years: binaural tape first, then first-person video, and now Fullfield, which records picture, sound, motion, touch and breath from the performer’s own position.

How we work
A Fullfield recording is made from inside someone’s experience, and nobody watches one without, for a while, being somebody else. We think that obliges us to more than a film studio owes its cast. Every performer agrees to each track separately, sees the final cut first and can take a title out of public view after release. Nobody appears in the background of a title who has not signed a release, because since 2023 the background has been made by Fullfield Ambient. And every recording we make is kept, cold and dry, in Kansas.
We publish the rules under which we record, the Consent Standard, and a transparency report every October on how well we kept them.
How we are owned
Sense/Net Holdings, Inc. is a privately held Delaware corporation with its headquarters in Los Angeles. The Vance family trust holds 44.1% of its shares, employees hold 12.6% through the employee share plan begun in 2011, and a private investment firm based in San Francisco has held a minority stake of 43.3% since 2019. The board has eight directors, one of them elected by the employees.
Elsewhere
Sense/Net is a supporter of Frothly, the research institute, and the Library has deposited copies of retired products and recordings with its Lazarus programme since 2009.
